So I’m scrolling through Facebook at work, as usual and I see an article that has the title of “Research shows grandmothers’ brains benefit from babysitting” and I immediately think who made up these results.
According to the article, grandmothers who watched assisted with caring for their grandchildren scored better on cognitive tests; there’s a catch though. This has led researchers to believe that assisting with child care, at least one day a week, can lower the chances of developing dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Wait… Don’t go shipping your children off to Big Mama’s house just yet. Women who babysat five or more times scored lower on the cognitive exams.
So I guess it’s safe to assume that your mama should not be the first person you call when it’s time to hit the club.
